Although he was born in Corpus Christi, Texas; Connor Self has spent the majority of his life in the Fort Worth area, where he learned to play a wide variety of instruments and study under the renowned instructors Christopher Lennox and Mai Hessel, and later, under John Bingaman and David Cavazos. Connor currently performs with renowned groups such as the Byron Nelson Percussion Ensemble, The Greater Dallas Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, The Greater Dallas Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps.

Connor's composition journey began after joining his high school's marching band; where he newfound passion for composing and arranging music. In 2022, he published his first arrangement entitled King's Brand. Since then, he was begun embracing other styles of music outside of the conventional norm, including a mixture of Latin jazz and bossa nova, music inspired by the dances of his Native-American tribe, and even began delving into composing for video games and film. Currently, he does freelance composing and arranging alongside his own personal projects.
